The symposium titled “The Touch of Philosophical Thought on Life,” organized by our university’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Philosophy, was held on April 20–21, 2026 at the 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. The opening session on April 20 was conducted by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kasım Mümimoğlu.

Aiming to explore the multifaceted relationship of philosophical thought with the individual, society, and science, the event was carried out over two days within a rich program. Following the opening, presentations delivered by expert scholars from various universities addressed a wide range of topics, including scientific revolutions, the pursuit of happiness, debates on ethics and spirituality, artificial intelligence, theories of social recognition, and pragmatism. A multidisciplinary discussion environment was created with contributions from academics representing different institutions. Within the program, some presentations were conducted online, enabling broader academic participation.

Throughout the two-day symposium, the sessions emphasized that philosophical thought is not merely a theoretical field but is also directly connected to everyday life practices. The question-and-answer sessions held at the end of each panel facilitated productive discussions among participants and brought together diverse perspectives.

The symposium “The Touch of Philosophical Thought on Life” concluded as an important academic event, not only contributing to the exchange of scholarly knowledge but also highlighting the perspectives philosophy offers on contemporary issues. The event was attended by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selçuk Sağır, Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Abdullah Aydın and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Alanoğlu, along with many academics and students from our university.
