Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Alanoğlu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will be the guest of the “History and Culture” program broadcast jointly by Kanal E and Kanal Fırat, two television channels based in Elazığ. The program is hosted by Gıyasettin Dağ.
The program will focus on the Ottoman provincial administration system through Alanoğlu’s recently published book titled Management of Differences in the Ottoman Provinces in the Early Modern Period: The Palu Government (1515–1850). In particular, the discussion will address the Ottoman Empire’s approach to governing different social structures and identities, the functioning of the provincial organization, and the implementation of this system in Palu.
Known for his academic studies on Ottoman provincial history and administrative structures, Alanoğlu is expected to share remarkable insights into the historical development of Palu, the social structure of the region, and the local reflections of the Ottoman administrative system.
