WHY ACCREDITATION

29.09.2023 10:14

WHAT IS CORPORATE ACCREDITATION?

Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) is an external evaluation method that enables the evaluation of quality assurance, education-training, research-development, social contribution and management system processes in higher education institutions within the scope of the "planning, implementation, control and taking precautions" cycle.

KAP is carried out by evaluation teams formed by the Higher Education Quality Board within the scope of Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Criteria and Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Guide.

Every year, the higher education institutions to be included in the KAP are determined by YÖKAK and evaluation teams are formed in accordance with the structure of these higher education institutions. Two visits (preliminary visit and field visit) are carried out by the evaluation teams in question to the relevant higher education institutions.

As a result of these visits, Institutional Accreditation Reports (KAR) are prepared by the evaluation teams and a decision regarding accreditation is made by YÖKAK, taking these reports into consideration.

The following decisions are made by YÖKAK within the scope of KAP:

Full accreditation (for five years),
Conditional accreditation (for two years),
Decision to reject accreditation.
