Muş Alparslan University is one of the 17 new universities established with the Law No. 5662 on “Amendments to the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions and the Decree Law on the Staff of Academic Staff in Higher Education Institutions and the Tables Annexed to the Decree Law on the General Staff and Procedure” and published in the Official Gazette on May 29, 2007. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences within the university was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated May 29, 2007 and numbered 98/1462. Muş Alparslan University Faculty of Arts and Sciences continues its education with the 12 departments opened.
