The Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Muş Alparslan University has been accredited for a period of five years following a comprehensive evaluation conducted by FEDEK. This accreditation demonstrates that the department’s educational structure, academic content, and institutional operations meet established quality standards.
During the evaluation process, key aspects such as the relevance and up-to-dateness of the curriculum, the clear and measurable definition of learning outcomes, student-centered teaching practices, the diversity of assessment and evaluation methods, and the academic staff’s areas of expertise and research productivity were thoroughly examined. In addition, research activities carried out within the department, the student advising system, practical training opportunities, and continuous improvement mechanisms were also assessed as part of the accreditation criteria.
With this accreditation decision, the national recognition of the Department of Psychology has been strengthened, and its ability to sustainably implement a quality assurance system has been formally confirmed. The regular review of the curriculum, the incorporation of stakeholder feedback, and the systematic monitoring of academic development are among the fundamental components of this process.
This development has further reinforced the department’s position as one of the leading academic units in the field of psychology education in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. With its educational approach and academic expertise, the department has strengthened its role as a model for higher education institutions in the region.
