The Muş Alparslan University (MAUN) Quality Coordination Office held a technical briefing and evaluation meeting at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in order to ensure the digital-based monitoring of institutional quality processes and the effective use of continuous improvement methodology.
The meeting, held at 10:00 a.m. in the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Classroom (AS 106), was attended by MAUN Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Selva Staub; Quality Coordination Office staff Lecturer Emine Orhan and Computer Operator Sultan Ateş; Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Prof. Dr. Kasım Müminoğlu; Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Alanoğlu and Assist. Prof. Dr. Esra Çıplak; as well as members of the faculty quality coordination office.
The main agenda of the meeting focused on activating data entry processes through the MAUNKYS system and ensuring the correct and regular implementation of the PDCA cycle (Plan–Do–Check–Act) across the faculty. Participants were provided with a comprehensive presentation on the steps for using MAUNKYS, types of data, its integration with quality indicators, and the importance of accurate and error-free data entry. It was emphasized that updates made through the system directly contribute both to internal faculty reporting and to the university’s overall institutional quality performance.
In the PDCA cycle session, all stages—from process planning to implementation, from establishing control mechanisms to taking corrective and preventive actions—were discussed in detail. It was stated that structuring academic and administrative activities carried out within faculty units in line with this cycle is of great importance for ensuring the continuity of the quality culture. Particular emphasis was placed on increasing process traceability, strengthening evidence-based decision-making mechanisms, and managing improvement plans in a more systematic manner.
Throughout the meeting, participants had the opportunity to share their views on challenges encountered within units, differences in process implementation, and areas in need of improvement. Various suggestions were put forward to enable units to take a more active role in process management and to communicate quality-related practices more effectively to staff.
The meeting concluded with joint evaluations aimed at reviewing work plans for the upcoming period and further strengthening cooperation between the faculty and the university regarding quality processes.
