The “Self-Discovery Workshop: Schemas” seminar, organized by the Department of Psychology to enhance students’ self-awareness, attracted great interest.
The event took place at Çay Bahane, located in the Muş Alparslan University Campus Bazaar, with Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Seyid Bağçivan as the speaker. The program, which began at 17:10 on 9 October 2025, was attended by undergraduate students.
During the seminar, the topic of “early maladaptive schemas”, formulated by Jeffrey Young and recognized as significant in psychological literature, was discussed. Dr. Bağçivan addressed the scientific foundations of Schema Therapy, explaining comprehensively how these schemas influence personality development and shape relational life.
The event aimed to help students gain self-awareness, providing concrete information on how schemas form, their manifestations in adulthood, and how they are addressed in therapeutic processes.
The program concluded with a Q&A session, where students’ questions about the topic were answered.
