“Youth, Education, and International Experience: The Erasmus+ Event Attracted Great Interest”

At the seminar held on 18 November 2025 at 14:00 in the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Classroom, Furkan HERGÜL, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cosmos Youth Association, explained the founding purpose of the European Union, its current role, and the international opportunities it offers to young people, emphasizing that the EU is built upon peace, cooperation, and shared values.

Subsequently, information was provided on the budget, priorities, and sectors covered by the Erasmus+ Programme for the 2021–2027 period; it was noted that, with a budget of €26.2 billion, Erasmus+ is Europe’s most powerful education and youth programme and prioritizes inclusion, digitalization, and sustainability. It was stated that, as Türkiye is a programme country, it has full participation rights in the calls, offering significant internationalization opportunities for young people, academics, and institutions. The three main strands of Erasmus+ youth projects—youth exchanges, youth worker mobility, and youth participation projects—were addressed in a comparative manner.

In the continuation of the presentation, it was conveyed that the programme provides students with opportunities such as CV development, intercultural experience, and social and academic development, while offering academics opportunities including international research collaborations, institutional visibility, and new project partnerships.

At the end of the seminar, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Kasım MÜMİNOĞLU thanked HERGÜL, emphasized the importance of such projects for both students and academics, and stated that they are supported by the faculty.
