Sociology and Journalism Departments Signed the Double Major Protocol.

DOUBLE MAJOR PROTOCOL SIGNED WITH JOURNALISM DEPARTMENT!

Muş Alparslan University has signed another important collaboration that will contribute to the academic and professional development of its students. Thanks to the Double Major Protocol implemented between the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Communication, students will have the chance to study in two different fields at the same time and earn a double diploma. Muş Alparslan University continues to diversify the academic opportunities it offers to its students by increasing interdisciplinary collaborations. The Sociology Department had previously signed protocols with the Turkish Language and Literature and Psychology Departments. In this context, it also signed a "Double Major Protocol" with the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Communication. The protocol was made official with the ceremony held between the Head of the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Lecturer Miyase Aslantaş, and the Head of the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Communication, Dr. Lecturer Hayrettin Ayaz. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kara and the department instructors attended. Contribution to Academic and Professional Development… The main purpose of the protocol is to encourage academic cooperation between different disciplines and to allow students to specialize in a second field. In this way, students will not only increase their academic competence, but will also gain a stronger position in the business world with the versatile skills they acquire.

Who Can Benefit?

Students accepted to the Double Major program will be required to successfully complete at least 60 ECTS courses within the scope of the second diploma program. These courses will be prepared in line with the field competencies determined by the Council of Higher Education and it will be aimed for students to successfully complete both departments in terms of knowledge, skills and competence. Sociology and Journalism Disciplines Together… Within the scope of the program; it is aimed to train individuals who can analyze social structures, express these structures effectively, and master both academic and field studies. This cooperation, which offers an important opportunity for students interested in social sciences, will also provide the ability to evaluate media and society relations in a multifaceted way.
