Philosophy Department Assistant Professor Vildan BURKAZ gave a seminar presentation titled "The War of All Against All in Thomas Hobbes". Burkaz examined Hobbes' concept of the state of nature in her speech and talked about its influence on the formation of the social contract. She also included the views of some thinkers who addressed the concept of the state of nature in history and stated that according to Hobbes, the most basic purpose of man is to survive and that he generally based his philosophy on this claim. The seminar was concluded with questions and comments from the participants. The event ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation by the department head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümit Kartal.
